Mother and child healthcare is at the lowest level of focus in Pakistan, as compared to the rest of the world. Neonatal healthcare has only recently been identified as a public health priority in Pakistan. Out of the 5 million children born this year in Pakistan, Only half will survive beyond the first month. Statistics are grim for maternal-mortality as well and it is estimated that there will be approximately 276 deaths per 100,000 live births.
