To address these issues is where MCCT comes in - with passion and will to bridge this gap. MCCT (Mother & Child Care Trust) is a Non-Profit Trust established in 2004 by a group of philanthropists and volunteers from Karachi. It initially targeted a defined slum are of Urban Karachi (Bilal Colony), but soon expanded its objective to other poorly developed areas of Pakistan such as rural Sindh and various other similar locations where mothers and children were in desperate need of healthcare and related education. MCCT is involved in a range of presently located in the underprivileged area of Bilal Colony in Korangi, Karachi. Additionally, the women are also taught the basics in sanitation and hygiene, in order to due to educate them towards better health. MCCT has provided public health service on a large scale by training women at the grass root level. Training them to deal with maternal problem (midwives), take care of newborn babies, basic sanitation and hygiene for the mother and child and preventive care by proper communication and vaccination services.
